BBC RADIO 1
’THE FRIENDS OF IBIZA’
British clubbers holidaying in Ibiza had been disrespecting the island and the authorities had threatened to close the island to them. So, BBC Radio 1 asked us to create a campaign to encourage dance enthusiasts to think about their behaviour. Our big idea "Friends of Ibiza" was spearheaded by Radio 1 as a dance music coalition supported by Cream, Ministry of Sound, MTV, MixMag and Gatecrasher. We created humorous mock landing cards, to be completed on arrival in Ibiza. The campaign intended to make visitors to the island laugh, while at the same time making it clear that yobbish behaviour was unacceptable. Friends of Ibiza received a club load of media coverage and helped change visitors attitudes to the island, as well as picking up a Wooden Pencil at D&AD.
